Dr. Hunter Lamar is a valued member of Gateway Animal Hospital.
Dr. Hunter Lamar grew up in Statesboro, Georgia. He graduated in 2015 from Georgia Southern University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology while playing football for the Eagles.
Dr. Lamar began working at Gateway Animal Hospital in high school as a technician assistant in 2010 and loved the surgical aspect and preventive medicine in general practice. He obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2020 with an emphasis in mixed animal medicine and a special interest in reproduction and surgery. Dr. Lamar practiced in Jesup, Georgia upon graduation, and it was then when he started his own business that will continue to be offered at Gateway Animal Hospital. Eagle Creek Reproduction Services offers services such as canine semen freezing and storage, breeding soundness, breeding management, and several methods of insemination.
In his free time, Dr. Lamar enjoys traveling, the outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He spends a lot of his time with his Labrador Retrievers competing in hunt tests and field trials across the country in the UKC and AKC hunt tests as well as the Super Retriever Series."
